Matthew Loflin Davis: Metal Work

Dean Family Window: Private Metal Work in Ferndale, Michigan

"In the process of a major house renovation we added a third story studio. The window we planned would be directly under the south gable and be the highest architectural point of interest so it seemed important to do something fun with it. I had seen a window in a Detroit loft that swung open on a center access and decided that would be a great design to have in an octagon window. Matthew had done some other metal work for me before and when I approached him with the job he was excited about the idea. The window he created for the space is awesome. It is my single favorite thing about our revamped house. It adds an industrial focal point to that end of the room and ties in a variety of other metalwork Matthew has done elsewhere. Everyone that sees it feels pretty much the same."
